Preparing the offering…

Aanya & Odissi

Twelve years.
One sacred threshold.

What began in childhood became Aanya’s longest practice: a language of rhythm, discipline and expression, learned one returning step at a time.

12years of training at Vasundhara Academy for Performing Arts

Beyond the stage

Aanya,
in many rhythms.

Curious and grounded, Aanya brings the same quiet discipline to learning, social impact and creative expression that she has carried into twelve years of Odissi.

01 · Learning

Ideas with rigour

A student of The RP Goenka International School, Aanya is pursuing the IB Diploma Programme with Economics, Mathematics and Computer Science.

02 · Inquiry

Beyond the classroom

Harvard University’s short Pre-College Programme allowed her to explore questions of gender, society and equality more deeply.

03 · Impact

Sahaara

Through Sahaara, she is working towards accessible support infrastructure for women in need, centred around a dedicated hotline.

04 · Expression

A wider creative life

Her interests in music and theatre sit alongside academics, advocacy and dance—different forms connected by curiosity and expression.

The language of expression

Abhinaya,
held in a glance.

Before movement becomes story, meaning begins in the eyes, the hands and the quiet space between them.

The classical form

Sculpture
becomes breath.

Rooted in Odisha, Odissi is recognised for its sculptural geometry, lyrical torso movement, rhythmic footwork and expressive storytelling. Its grounded chowka and curving tribhangi hold strength and grace in the same frame.

Vasundhara Academy
for Performing Arts

Stillness · gesture · grace

Under Guru Vasundhara Gupta, Aanya’s training has been shaped by patience, rigour and respect for the form—corrections repeated until they became instinct, and devotion practised until it became presence.

Growing up at the academy, Aanya watched seniors and friends take the stage for their own Manch Pravesh. Their dedication quietly strengthened her resolve to reach this moment with sincerity.

Vasundhara Academy for Performing ArtsIn the words of Guru Vasundhara GuptaA Manch Pravesh is more than an achievement. It is the beginning of a deeper journey—rooted in discipline, devotion and humility.
